Daughter Olaf reckons that young folk have been hit hardest by the bonkers lockdown and so, like Brexit, which like everyone else in Islington she considered a monstrous display of alt-right Xenophobic ignorance by stupid poor people, this is a crime against the young by bloody old people. Although term for Oxford University students does not start for a couple of weeks, daughter Olaf paid a visit yesterday to check out her accommodation for the second year and to meet up with pals who were already up. Long time readers will know that my displacement nightmare activity involves my return to Oxford University. For reasons that are always slightly different, the story starts with me, rather foolishly, deciding that my 2:2 was not a true reflection of my academic genius and somehow I manage to persuade my old college to take me back for another stab at it. Somehow, I then contrive to screw it all up again and suddenly I am sitting in Schools, staring at an exam paper realising that this time around, notwithstanding widespread grade inflation, I’d be lucky to get even a Desmond.

Then how Oxford University must bump up my degree as I feel sad. then onto the issue of excessive AIM pay with the case study UK Oil & Gas (UKOG). The crowded precious metals trade is next with reference to AIM dog Alien Metals (UFO). Finally I look at the piss poor excuses of two companies late with their annual report: Fastjet (FJET) and ShareProphets Limited.

Yesterday I discussed what my late Uncle Christopher Booker, the author of two very relevant works you really should read during the lockdown, , Scared to Death (available here) and GroupThink (available here) would have macde of the pandemic. I am not sure that my Uncle’s long term collaborator Richard North appreciates the irony of his response to that podcast which I discuss here.

I do not look back at my old University with some of the unbridled love that others show. Indeed, at times of stress, my nightmare is of again sitting finals and being even more at sea than I was the first time around. About once a week James Delingpole remarks about how our alma mater has gone to the dogs and, he has a point, it does seem to be a nest of silliness these days.
